Sri Lanka's ODI Opener Against Zimbabwe Washed Out by Rain
The series will progress with two additional one-day matches scheduled for Monday and Thursday, followed by three T20 games, all set to be held in Colombo.
The opening one-day match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe on Saturday ended prematurely due to persistent rain, leaving Zimbabwe struggling at 12-2 after four overs. The downpour interrupted play, and the match was called off.

Left-arm quick Dilshan Madushanka played a crucial role, dismissing opener Tinashe Kamunhukamwe for a first-ball duck and then capturing the wicket of captain Craig Ervine in the same over. Madushanka's two overs were both maidens. Sri Lanka, batting first, posted a total of 273 for nine, thanks to a remarkable third ODI century by vice-captain Charith Asalanka.
Opener Avishka Fernando fell for a duck in the first over, but Kusal Mendis (46) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (41) contributed with a 63-run partnership. However, Zimbabwe's Richard Ngarava claimed two crucial wickets, finishing with figures of 2 for 39. Despite Asalanka's efforts, Sri Lanka fell short, and he was run out in the final over.
